The Playlist • March 2019

Hey, wanna be inside my head for a bit? I’m at home alone for the first time in a long time, hungover and suffering with the fear. I had a pretty weird night.

We could break away, if you really want to run. Hard to keep the pace, when you’re staring at the sun. Let’s hide away from it, try escape from it.
Let’s hide away, if you really want to run.

Naturally I am getting through the day with my MacBook (this baby is almost 10 years old now, can you believe it), a cup of coffee to my right and a new playlist on max volume to my left. Nice to know that these habits are still very much instilled in me, after all this time.

Recently I’ve really been craving the twinkly sounds of plucking guitars, synthetic pop backgrounds and raw vocals. Recycling old nostalgic music, like watching old episodes of The OC and introducing snippets of new talent to the mix.

I don’t know if you’re interested, in the beginning of an end. Did I really fucking love you, or was it just my messed up head? I don’t think I’ve seen enough of you, lying naked in my bed.

As the afternoon slips away, theres an easy going playlist going. Smooth and moody melodies humming a beautiful slow tempo mixed with little chilled pop treasures, just occasionally chiming through out the house.

Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl – Broken Social Scene
Don’t Delete The Kisses – Wolf Alice
Sinkhole – Old Sea Brigade
The Less I know The Better – Tame Impala
Shrike – Hozier
UFOF – Big Thief
Feels Like This – Maisie Peters
It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You) – The 1975
I Can’t Quit – The Vaccines
Harmony – Vampire Weekend
Everybody Wants to be Famous – Superorganism
On Hold – The xx
33 “GOD” – Bon Iver

The rain clouds are flirting with the sun outside and I’m melting into the sofa hoping that Monday doesn’t come around too quickly.

And did I really fucking love you, or just the image in my head?
The one that I have painted of you. I’m going to love you till I’m dead.
